Privacy notice
Two different things share one name, and they deserve separate answers: the app on your Mac, and this website.

The app: your data stays with you
This is the part the product is built around, and it is unqualified.
- ✓ Your tasks, blocks, notes, templates and attachments live on your Mac.
- ✓ With iCloud sync on, they are mirrored into your own private iCloud account. That is Apple’s infrastructure and your storage — Focusly has no server holding it and cannot read it.
- ✓ Turning iCloud off keeps everything on that one Mac. Nothing is deleted either way.
What the app does send
Licence checks
When you activate or periodically re-validate a licence, the app sends your licence key and an anonymous machine identifier to api.focusly.app so we can enforce the device limit. No task content is involved.
Usage analytics — off unless you turn it on
If you opt in under Settings → Privacy, the app reports which features are used, which integrations are connected, crash-free session counts, and your app and macOS versions. It does not send task titles or content, names, email addresses, account details, location or IP address.
Integrations you connect
When you link Google Calendar, Jira or another integration, the app talks to that service directly from your Mac. The one exception is signing in to Slack, covered below. What each connection can see, and where it can go, is set out in the next section.

Nothing here happens unless you connect the service. Each one is optional.
Google Calendar
What Focusly reads
Your list of calendars and the events on them — titles, times, and where present the description, location and repeat rule. This uses Google’s read-only calendar permission.
What Focusly changes, and only if you ask it to
Creating, editing, moving or deleting events requires a second, separate permission that Focusly requests only when you press “Allow editing” in the event editor. Without it, Focusly cannot change your Google Calendar at all.
Why
To show your events on Focusly’s schedule beside your tasks, to let you search them, to place blocks around them, and — when you choose — to edit them. That is the whole use.
Where it is kept
On your Mac. Sign-in tokens are held in the macOS Keychain. Event details are held in memory while the app runs and are not written to disk, with one exception: if you hide an event, its title and identifier are saved on that Mac, and not synced anywhere, so it stays hidden. Your Google account’s email address and the names of your calendars are kept in the app’s settings on your Mac.
Where it goes
Only between your Mac and Google. It is never sent to Focusly’s servers. If you turn on usage analytics, the app reports only that a Google Calendar was connected or disconnected — never an event, a title or a calendar name.
AI assistants, only if you connect one
From version 1.0.7, if you turn on Focusly’s AI connectors and connect an assistant such as Claude, Cursor or Codex, that assistant can ask Focusly for your calendars and events — including titles, times, descriptions and locations — and, with your approval in Focusly, create or change them. That data then goes to the assistant’s provider (for example Anthropic or OpenAI) under their terms. Nothing is shared this way unless you have set it up, and the connection lives on your Mac.
What we never do with it
We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or transfer it to anyone except as described above at your direction. We do not use it to train or improve any AI or machine-learning model, ours or anyone else’s. No one at Furbi, LLC reads it — we have no copy to read.
Removing access
Disconnect the account in Focusly’s Calendar Sync panel, which deletes its tokens from your Keychain. You can also revoke access at any time from your Google Account, under Security → Third-party apps with account access.
Focusly’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The use of information received from Google Workspace scopes will adhere to the Google Workspace APIs User Data and Developer Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Everything else
Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft 365
When available, handled exactly as Google Calendar above: read-only unless you allow editing, directly between your Mac and Microsoft, tokens in your Keychain, never on our servers, and shared with an AI assistant only if you connect one.
Apple Calendar and Reminders
Read and written through macOS on your own Mac, with the permission macOS asks you for. Apple syncs them between your devices; Focusly does not copy them anywhere. From version 1.0.7, an AI assistant you connect can read them, and change them with your approval.
Slack
Signing in is the one step that passes through our server: Slack requires a secret that cannot be kept inside an app, so api.focusly.app exchanges Slack’s one-time code for your token and hands the token straight back to your Mac. It is never stored or logged on our side. Everything after that — reading channels, posting updates — goes directly between your Mac and Slack.
Notion, Jira, Asana, Trello, Todoist, GitHub, GitLab, Discord and Calendly
Directly between your Mac and each service, using a token you provide, held in your Keychain. (Versions before 1.0.7 kept the Notion token in the app’s settings file on your Mac instead.)
Delegating a task to an AI
If you use Focusly’s “delegate” feature, the task you delegate — its title, notes, schedule, links and any transcript you attached — goes to the AI you chose: the Claude or Codex command-line tool on your Mac, or Anthropic’s or OpenAI’s API using your own key. Calendar events are not included.
This website
focusly.app is an ordinary website and uses ordinary third parties. It would be easy to leave this section out and let the paragraph above imply otherwise, so here it is in full.
Google Analytics
Page views and conversion events — a download click, a checkout start, and a completed purchase with its amount — so we can see which pages actually lead somewhere.
Off until you accept the banner. Declining still lets us count visits in aggregate, without cookies and without anything tied to you. IP addresses are shortened.
Google Ads
If you accept the banner, a cookie that lets us tell whether an advert we paid for led to a download or a purchase, and the value of that purchase.
Off until you accept. This is the half of the banner that is genuinely about advertising: it lets Google connect your visit to an advert you clicked, and lets us show ads to people who resemble our customers. Decline and none of it happens — no advertising cookie is set, and any already on your device is deleted. We never send Google your name, email address or anything you typed into Focusly.
Affiliate referral cookie (focusly_ref)
If you arrive through an affiliate’s referral link, a first-party cookie stores that affiliate’s referral code for 45 days, with a copy in your browser’s local storage.
It exists so the person who recommended Focusly gets paid if you buy, and it holds nothing but their code — no identifier for you, nothing about what you read, and nothing is sent to any third party. It is set without asking because it is what makes an advertised commission real rather than a tracking cookie. Clearing your cookies and site data removes it.
Cloudflare
Serves this website and absorbs abuse.
Standard server logs, including IP address, as any web host keeps.
Cloudflare Turnstile
Checks that the contact form is being used by a person.
Necessary for the form to work, so it runs without a consent prompt.
You can change your mind at any time: , or use the “Cookie choices” link in the footer of any page. Withdrawing consent also deletes the analytics and advertising cookies already set.
The banner covers the Google cookies, and those only. The
focusly_ref referral cookie listed above is not one of
them and is not deleted by declining: it carries no identifier for you, is read by
nobody but our own checkout, and its only job is to make sure the person who
recommended Focusly is credited. Clearing your browser's cookies and site data for
focusly.app removes it.
Fonts on this site are served from focusly.app rather than a font CDN, so loading a page does not hand your IP address to a third party before you have decided anything.
If you buy a licence
Buying means we hold a small amount about you — enough to give you your licence key back if you lose it, and nothing more.
Stripe
Takes the payment.
Card details go to Stripe and never reach us. We see your email address, what you bought and whether it succeeded.
Supabase
Stores your order, your licence keys and the account you use to retrieve them.
Email address, order history, licence keys and their activations. No task content, ever.
Resend
Sends your licence key, receipts and replies to the contact form.
Email address and the contents of the message.
If you join the affiliate program
Recommending Focusly for commission means holding more about you than buying it does — an account, and, because money is being sent to a bank, an identity.
Your affiliate account
Your name, email address and a password, plus your referral code, the sales credited to you and what you have been paid.
Stored in Supabase, the same database as customer accounts. The password is hashed by Supabase Auth; we never see it. You are not put on any marketing list by signing up.
The focusly_ref cookie
A first-party cookie on your visitors’ devices holding your referral code for 45 days, so a purchase can be credited to you.
Described in full in the website section above. It is set on the visitor’s device, not yours, and identifies the affiliate — not the visitor.
Stripe Connect
Collects your identity documents and bank details, directly, in order to pay you and to meet its own legal obligations.
This data goes to Stripe and not to us: we never see or hold your bank details or your ID, and Stripe is a separate data controller for it, under its own privacy policy. Stripe also collects your tax form (W-9, or W-8BEN outside the US) and handles the associated reporting. We see only that onboarding is complete and what we have transferred to you.
What the program itself commits to — attribution, commission, payouts and clawbacks — is in the affiliate program terms. You can close an affiliate account and ask us to delete it at any time; we keep payout records for as long as tax law requires us to.
Email you asked for
You are on a list only if you ticked a box saying so. The legal basis is your consent, which means it can be withdrawn at any time and just as easily as it was given — one click, no account, no reason required.
What is stored
Your email address, where it came from, which of the two lists you agreed to, and the date and IP address that agreement came from.
The date and IP exist so consent can be shown to have happened rather than merely asserted. Nothing else about you is attached.
What is sent
Product updates, meaning the app changed, and offers, meaning there is a sale on. Separate lists — you can be on either, both or neither.
Being in the database is not permission. An address with no agreement recorded against it is never emailed.
Resend
The service that stores the list and delivers the messages.
Only addresses that agreed are copied there. Withdrawing removes you from it.
Stopping it
Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link that works in one click, with no sign-in and no confirmation step.
You can stop one list and keep the other. Email hello@focusly.app if you would rather ask a person.
Email about something you bought — a licence key, a receipt, a refund — is not marketing and is not covered by this. Those still arrive after you unsubscribe, because you would otherwise be left without the thing you paid for.
Your rights, and what we never do
- —Ask for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we will.
- —We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the services listed on this page.
- —We do advertise Focusly, and if you accept the banner, Google can connect your visit to an advert you clicked and use it to find people like you. Decline and it does not happen. We never hand over your name, email address or anything from inside the app — the only email list is the one you opted into, used only to email you directly.
- —Your tasks are never sent to us. There is no Focusly database containing your schedule.

Who we are
Focusly is made and sold by Furbi, LLC. Everywhere this notice says “we”, it means that company, and that company is the data controller for everything described above — the party responsible for it and the one to address a request to.
